Specialized Foster Care is two-fold in
its mission:
to provide a
safe, caring and stable environment for
children
removed from their parents' homes. These
children present with challenging and unique needs, requiring foster parents
who are trained in varied behavior modification techniques and who actively
advocate for the children to make sure their mental and physical health,
educational, and social needs are met.
to provide
extensive support to both the foster child and the foster parents to insure
the needs of the child and the foster parents are met to the highest
standard.
Trained
licensing workers and foster care workers recruit, train, supervise,
and provide support to foster parents in their efforts to
provide stable and nurturing homes to the children in their care.
Caseworkers meet with foster parents and children regularly to develop
behavior plans, and to assess the specific needs of the children.
Caseworkers provide, or seek supportive services to best meet those needs.
