Our counselors are committed to improving the level of emotional health and functioning of the individual, couple or family by building self-esteem and interpersonal skills through a variety of assessment and counseling methods. We recognize each person as unique individuals and we are committed to helping them assess their strengths and weaknesses and assist them in building on those areas which are most helpful to their life situation.

The counseling process involves utilization of an initial assessment to identify areas interfering with healthy behaviors and choices. Social skills education and the use of Reality Therapy principles are used to assist individuals in taking responsibility for their actions and then learning to make more effective choices. Counseling provides insight and assistance in developing and implementing behavioral plans to enhance the individual, couple or family’s mental health and thus their quality of life.

Child & Family Services therapists also have had extensive training in bullying issues and are available to assist youth who bully others or who are being subjected to bullying. Therapists are available to work with schools and organizations, presenting programs on the topic of bullying as a societal issue.
